Colours of day
Have faded away
The skies are draped
In shades of grey
From cloudy eyes
Some droplets fell
And thus came by
A rainy spell
The parched up sand
Wore grassy green
The leaves regained
Their cheerful sheen
The evenings shone
In scarlet gold
Yet someone’s left
Just damp and cold
It rained all night
Till break of day
The earth was moist
With misty spray
The scent of sand
Befilled the heart
Yet some dreams
Were torn apart
Amidst the games
Of shade and light
In laughs and cheers
And pain and plight
The mind beholds
The wide array
Of different hues
Of a rainy day
